Institute of Occupational Medicine and Environmental Health (further on referred to  as  IOMEH)  is a research centre  which on the basis of its  statute conducts  research and implementation studies, training, diagnostic and  treatment activities and also eligibility determination in the field of occupational  medicine and environmental health. IOMEH also gets involved in tasks concerning public health and other statutory based tasks  and particularly in  health campaigns  and disease prevention.

IOMEH  employs  high class specialists from different fields of medical and   natural science of broad scientific output. Within the structure of IOMEH there are:  Ward  for Occupational  Internal  Diseases and  Allergology and Regional Centre for Acute Intoxication including Clinical Toxicology Ward  and numerous departments and independent scientific-research and  other organizational units  substantive and administrative. The important marker of  IOMEH  is a unique Outpatient Clinic of Environmental Medicine  in Poland and the only Training Centre for Occupational Health. Furthermore there is a Seat of Main Board of the  Polish Society  of Environmental Medicine, Silesian Branch of Polish Society  of Occupational Medicine and Association of Occupational Hygienists.
